Over half of Gen Z has polled in favor of gender-segregated areas in gyms, wishing for single-sex gym spaces. 

In response to rising demand, a new gym has opened exclusively for women in the UK. Historical trends toward more inclusive spaces are being reconsidered as young people increasingly advocate for environments they perceive as safer and more comfortable for fitness activities.

Researcher: “There certainly has been some conservative drift among young people, and in particular a split between young men and women on whether gender equality has gone too far, which is increasing tension between the genders among that young group—but that’s not what these data are showing.”
