Jeff Bezos and Amazon are funding a startup focused on general-purpose humanoid robots with $100 million. In total, Figure AI has secured $675 million, bringing the company’s value to around $2 billion.

The startup’s robot, “Figure 01,” learned to make coffee in ten hours by watching humans. According to Figure’s website, developing general-purpose humanoids will “make a positive impact on humanity and create a better life for future generations” by “eliminating the need for unsafe and undesirable jobs—ultimately allowing us to live happier, more purposeful lives."

Other high-profile investors include Microsoft ($95 million) and Nvidia ($50 million).
